Complimentary Colors Examples
Complimentary colors are pairs of colors that cancel each other out. They are complete opposites such as red and green. In a picture of an orchid there are several variations of yellow-green in the leaves and several variations of red-purple in the orchid. More examples of complementary colors are red-purple and yellow-green. The opposing colors create maximum contrast and maximum stability making the photo more appealing to an audience. Using complementary colors helps the photographs appeal to the audience. The colors also make the photo stand out and thus gives more personality and relatability to them. The complementary colors are composed of both tertiary colors, colors that are more complex than secondary colors.
