Land developed an instant camera on February 1st 1947 after his daughter questioned him on why he had not crated one in the first place.
Importance
The Polaroid Land Camera revolutionized the way take photos. Before it, photos would only a few seconds or it would take time to process the photo. With the introduction of the Polaroid Camera, people could have a near instantaneous photo of something and it would last. It was the closest thing the world had to "instant photography." Land also made multiple different contribution ranging from glasses to filters that polarized light for better photography.
Discription of Invention
Edwin Land had developed a wide range of applications such as the production of sunglasses and color animation during World War II. He and his team had also been tasked with refining night-vison goggles. Land and his team also contributed to the creation of the U-2 spy plane. He then created the Polaroid Land Camera and it became an instant success. The camera uses diffusion and dyes to produce the image. A color version was released in 1963.
